Otsuka Welfare Clinic was inaugurated at Peshawar on 10th July 2003. Mr. Asif Iqbal Daudzai, Minister for Communication was the Chief Guest. The occasion was attended by many dignified personalities including Secretary Health, Dr. Ihsan-ul-Haq. Renowned professor and assistant profesors along with important doctors of the NWFP.

The minister appreciated the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Company for establishing a charity clinic at Peshawar and said that it will run a long way in lowering the burden of patients on the local hospitals.

Addressing on the occasion Secretary Health, Dr. Ihsan-Ul-Haq hailed the administration for establishing a humanitarian based hospital that purely aimed at services to the poor Afghans, he instigated other pharmaceutical companies to do the same.

Mr. Meguru Kajiwara mentioned in his address that the idea of the clinic was originated during Otsuka Board of Directors Meeting at Japan particularly President, Mr. Tatsuo Higuchi and one of the Directors, Mr. Akihiko Otsuka who showed keen interest to make some contribution towards health care of the Afghan Refugees residing in Peshawar and surrounding areas. Mr. Meguru Kajiwara also prayed for the success of the clinic.
